I was wrapping my head around the fact, why I don’t use Facebook apps on my iOS. The more I was thinking about it, the more clear it became. Facebook default apps are a pain, as they have a full grip over the user experience, and don’t integrate well with the third party apps on iOS.
There is no easy and convenient way for me to manipulate the data that I put into the application, no way to export it, and it is utterly disconnected from Twitter. You could use the IFTTT, but it doesn’t act right away, and your status doesn’t get published in a snap.
Actually the best Facebook application is actually Instagram, as it solves the problem of publishing on numerous relevant locations. You can push your photos to Tumblr, Flickr, Twitter, Facebook and even Foursquare. So it figures, the best Facebook application is not even a Facebook application. It was developed by somebody else.
So that is the problem with Paper, it doesn’t solve the problem of content curation. It is nifty little app for “royal we”, and potentially making them better curators of content ON Facebook. And as you might noticed by know, Facebook became a big royal dump of smudge, as nothing goes through your Newsfeed. Publishing a status on Facebook became the equivalent of shouting in the empty cave.
