This article is quite refreshing. Whenever someone tells you that you are insane, he may be right. But the thing is, if this happened to him, he could be insane too. Bottom line, after reading this article, you will realize that sanity is overrated.
This BMW scooter looks like a transformer. Dig it, dig it’s electric. Want one.
There is something romantic in the empty office. This peace that in around me, won’t last long, but it starches to infinity allowing my inspiration to blossom. I feel as if I am on top of things…
And my happiness was short lived. Now the office comes to life and only me knew how peaceful it was while none of them were there.
The devotion of the people defending Obama doesn’t stop to astonish me. This passion fueled excitment and defensive against the critique is something that I have never seen during my life time. But I’ve heard it, during the dark time of last century that made countless millions of people in permanent sorrow.
While I don’t believe it will repeat, I do know that if we don’t act now, we will have to learn that freedom doesn’t come free. It starts small, with regulations like Patriots Act, but instead of stopping it grows into NDAA. Than goverment starts giving, giving endlessly… And people when they get, they always want more. But we ultimately pay the price. Becoming dependent on the government is not a bad thing if it came free, but the price we pay comes in freedom.
And I don’t understand people who would revote Barrack. I honestly don’t. Bush era, no matter how much I disliked Bush seems like sweet freedom. No I haven’t lived in the USA at all, but I have friends and relatives who are there. And all I hear is complaining, ever since Barrack stepped into the office. But that’s not the scariest moment. The scariest moment is that in the time of big crisis, our government size increases. And I am dead terrified of big governments. Ever since I’ve read Orwell’s 1984, I have a bitter taste whenever I see government increasing in size.
It’s logical that goverment will get big, as poppulation increases, but big goverment means big control. And it’s frightening. If you haven’t read 1984 I urge you to do it. It’s a must read for any academically educated person. And this government just keeps getting bigger. Big = scary. The bigger the scarier. And it’s killing the free market. More people working with the government no growth job, state dependent. I don’t understand how people don’t realize that dependency is slavery. I grew up in a country without too much opportunities, socialist country. And I grew up on American dream fed up to me through the movies.
Deep inside of my core I know that I don’t need government to make it. This government that lead my life for past 26 years, quasi-democrat, communist, socialist… They’ve all came and gone. Leaving bitter taste of dependancy. It’s awful to vote out of necessity. Necessity to change something. I am not quite sure that people in USA realize the kind of threat they are facing.
In my country we always ridiculed American education system. Especially Geography part. And now we have a game at play. Uneducated people, who were never raised to think, filled with expectations. And now there is a messenger of hope. A hope that you will never have to move your ass off until the rest of your life, you just need to keep your mouth shut.
My immigration to USA is a hope that there are people who have enough dignity to stand up for themselves and make it. People who weren’t afraid of moving to another continent in pursuit of their own happiness. Same way I am in a pursuit of my own. I still believe in that, but am I wrong?
I am definitively making my WordPress my main “Status Update” section. Want to simplify it, so every time I post, it goes out to Facebook, Twitter and even Tumblr.
Owning your own platform is the thing that is most important in the case of your online identity, and by “owning it” you are not going to be worried about Terms of Service from other websites, nor you will have strict control on what you can or can not post.
You can’t get banned, and if you have a problem with your hosting provider, your backup can give life to your same website on yet another platform. So let’s see how will I make WordPress more social..
Testing it out, along with some weird Gothic music, that I used to love. There is true art in sadness!
I only vaguely remember my infrequent, but strong adolescent depressions. I used to connect with some really strange people…
For past 25 years I was growing up on the same land, but it had 4 different names. I was born in SFRY – Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, than it was SRJ (Serbia and Montenegro together). Once that one didn’t turn out well, we changed our name again into Country Union of Serbia and Montenegro. And finally Montenegro said goodbye to us, and we are Republic of Serbia.
Sounds fancy, doesn’t it? We have the western media convinced into believing that we are actually living in Democracy. Yea, right! Democracy my ass. It’s the very same communism that my parents tried to run away from. Only this time, you won’t get shot for saying silly stuff, like your government is bad. How can it be bad? It’s nonsense. (Sarcasm off)
Than arises the question, if everyone, and we know that everyone here says it sucks, why don’t we stand up and don’t do something abut it? Well that’s a great question, I can tell you right now. A question that took me a while to figure out for myself. The part of the answer lies in demographics, the other part lies in cleaver social manipulation from our government.
I don’t want to make this a rant article, but I am angry. It’s strange, when you don’t know at whom you should be particularly angry about. We were all angry at NATO, USA and EU. And even though they carry a part of the burden of why things here are the way they are, that is not an excuse for us, not to raise up and live up to our standards. Bombing happened 12 years ago.
We are massively passive about the things that are going on here and the politicians are part of the problem. For past 20 years, I’ve witnessed every single one of our numerous major political parties was a part of the government at some point. Every single one of them failed us miserably. Every single one of them betrayed our trust and we as people started voting for lesser between two evils, as opposed to voting for something that’s good for us.
Any way you vote, you will see a party that you voted against, sitting in the parliament and making decisions instead of us. Government jobs are always well paid. Whenever you are a part of this monstrous political system, you will support it. It’s your livelyhood to support it. If you are not a part of that political system, finding a job is ridiculously hard.
I am 25, with a bachelor degree in Investment banking. I was lucky to land a first job, right after my graduation. It was a great job, I was working from home and it went great for a year. Than I was laid off, because my position wasn’t financially justified. I was working as outsourced labor for USA company. It was one year honeymoon, working from home online. Getting paid via foreign bank, and withdrawing my salary through ATM’s.
For past 2 months I’ve sent a bunch of resumes to numerous companies and I didn’t get a single response to my CV. The way you get a job in Serbia is through your personal connections. I am not happy either working for peanut butter. I am lucky enough that my parents can support me through my unemployed period. The luxury that numerous people from my country simply can not afford.
Now, maybe you will call me spoiled, because I won’t take any job that appears to me (not that any of those did). But when your salary is 500$ and your living expenses are higher than that, it’s not leaving you with a lot of choice, doesn’t it?
I don’t want to consider myself lucky, once I do get a job. Christs sake, that’s why I graduated from a college! So I could pick and choose the job in the field of work where I graduated from. The banks are offering 400 $ starting salaries. You can earn the same amount of money if you are working in a bakery. I didn’t graduate to be treated like a high school drop out.
It’s only me. I was born in Belgrade. You have to realize living in Belgrade is different than living in other parts of Serbia. I am mortified just thinking how those people are actually living. How are they meeting their monthly expenses and their needs throughout the day. In Belgrade, there are at least some jobs, in central Serbia, situation is not that happy. It’s awful here, but down there, it reminds me of a horror story.
Now I want to get back to the demographics part of the answer to the question to why don’t we raise up and do something about it? Average age of a person living in Serbia is 42 years. This leads us to a conclusion that we have a lot of retired people, sucking on taxpayers money.
Wait, what taxpayers? I am the first in line, who is going to advocate not paying any taxes to this government, at all. Why? Well, for starters this is not a country where taxes are allocated properly. They don’t end up back in the system, serving the greater cause for all of us, creating more jobs and making a healthy business environment. No they get vacuumed in the black holes of our politicians pockets. So where did we get the money in the first place?
This is the scary part. Our goverment is actually getting massive loans, putting our country further in debt. Those loans are partially being used to calm down the hungry mob, that is going to give the votes to the assholes in charge. Yep, you guessed it, retired people. Not only that, but also, all the people who are living of the governments budget. Of course those people are “unions” as Americans like to call it. People who are living of doing government paid jobs: Police, medical staff, teachers, government clerks and anyone else not working in the private sector.
Those salaries are always on time, along with the retirement plans. So where are we headed as a nation? Our government isn’t supporting small medium enterprises. Private sector is gloomy, and God knows I would NEVER EVER start a company in Serbia. What for? So I could just be raped, by yet another tax, that’s going to feed old and retired people, who lived during the Tito’s days and didn’t lift a finger for their whole lifetime and now they think they earned their retirments?
I am Serbia’s youth. I am one of those young people who are on our way out of here. And we had lots of our young people leaving our country in the past and that trend is still in the rise. Keep in mind, Serbia’s youth is minority. And that minority is fleeing. Our politicians are smart enough, they know that their voting power lies with comformists, people who just want to live the way they used to so far.
And than we have tons of young and healthy, capable people, sitting in the caffe shops (me being one of them), who can’t get a hold on a job. After sending more than 20 resumes and not getting a single email in return, I started wondering, where does my private information end up in? What is the purpose of me sending these resumes anyway?
Once you realize the major clash between the demographic groups, you start to realize why we are moving backwards. This is only the first article in the series of articles that I am going to publish on disguised communism in Serbia. In next article I will explain the second part of the question: Why don’t we raise up and do something about it?
