This is a treacherous day. Snow covered Chicago right before the spring, and I can hear the gushes of the wind while sitting here and writing these thoughts. Clouds are censoring the sun beams, making this whole scene particularly gray. If I could chose, I’d most likely go back to bed, but I can’t.
Regardless how the day looks like, we must work with what was given to us. You won’t get any other day like this one, ever again. It’s yours wether you like it or not. You will live it anyway, so you should make the best of it.
So after seeing how many people terribly represent themselves on the web, I’ve made a firm commitment to adjust my own digital presence and appearance. Somewhere along the lines, our digital selves (websites, social media accounts) have the same impact in the professional realm of information services, as cars do in sales. If you don’t have a very good professional looking website, you aren’t the IT professional that you would like others to think of you.
My previous website was “just a blog” and outside of paying attention to the last thing I’ve published, I didn’t have much control of how the blog roll would ultimately look on the homepage. The new layout is more “static” and will tell my story to the potential visitor, visually and contextually.
I’ve aspired to showcase my artistic side, and I think that template I’ve chosen manages to accomplish that admirably. So here it is, the new look and feel of Bojan.tv:
Snapchat IPO is a serious wake up call to me. I gotta wake up, like right now. I got my serious disadvantage of not being born here, but I can’t rely on that excuse for long. My execution skills need to be put to test, and they need to be refined. There is absolutely no reason why I couldn’t do better in the next decade.
2016 was supposed to be the year of the video, but it didn’t happen for me. It wasn’t all the way until 2017 that I started doing videos regularly. And Periscope was a perfect outlet, as it didn’t have a commitment of talking, and it did provide instant audience to my ramblings.
However, I’ve noticed that every time I scheduled a topic, I would limit my talks, so I’ve decided to go completely freestyle, and not keep any given format. Live element of the video is keeping it quite unpredictable and entertaining. Hence I wanna keep on doing it. If something turns out of it, I can always save it, post it to YouTube later.
What would you like me to talk about?
Evening over at the Starbucks in the laptop mode. Really didn’t feel like going home, as the hum of the people in the background actually feels quite good. You feel less alone. And I am just a junkie for that kind of atmosphere. The only thing left that makes me feel like I am still in Europe. The main reason why I’ve been buying Starbucks stock…
Starbucks isn’t only a coffee shop, it is more like America’s living room. I spent countless hours in it working, while I’ve shared the working space with the countless young Americans studying. We are all students in this life, even me, despite leaving school ages ago. At the end of the day, I still hit it, read, acquire and keep on pushing for more knowledge, more connections. And so should you. We don’t have the opportunity to drop out of the self development loop.
It’s good to come here, drop a few lines of text, and decompress. The constant instant messaging buzz is taxing my brain, but finally, I am still wired to typing. Just this time around it’s long form. And it helps me gain clarity, purify my thoughts, give them a structure and meaning. Something we all greatly yearn for in this era of endless distraction…
