Dropped into my Feedly, as I was adding some feeds. Feedly offers this cool feature letting you know how many Feedly users are following the particular RSS feed you’re interested in. I’ve popped up bojan.tv into it, and realized that I have 6 people following it. It is pretty cool number, considering that I’ve never actively promoted this website anywhere, except occasionally Tweeting out a link or two.
For the six people that are following me, thank you for choosing for allowing me the permission to enter into your RSS reader. I’ll try my best to create some cool stuff. I am thinking that I could probably create a separate feed for my photography, and perhaps branch it out based on the topics that I am covering. This feels like a great incentive to keep on blogging, even though, out of those 6 people following, I have a weird feeling that 4 of them are bots 🙂
Never the less, it is always a blessed feeling to know, that everything you put out, has the capability to be read by an actual human being. And it is a glorious feeling.
This is a treacherous day. Snow covered Chicago right before the spring, and I can hear the gushes of the wind while sitting here and writing these thoughts. Clouds are censoring the sun beams, making this whole scene particularly gray. If I could chose, I’d most likely go back to bed, but I can’t.
Regardless how the day looks like, we must work with what was given to us. You won’t get any other day like this one, ever again. It’s yours wether you like it or not. You will live it anyway, so you should make the best of it.
So after seeing how many people terribly represent themselves on the web, I’ve made a firm commitment to adjust my own digital presence and appearance. Somewhere along the lines, our digital selves (websites, social media accounts) have the same impact in the professional realm of information services, as cars do in sales. If you don’t have a very good professional looking website, you aren’t the IT professional that you would like others to think of you.
My previous website was “just a blog” and outside of paying attention to the last thing I’ve published, I didn’t have much control of how the blog roll would ultimately look on the homepage. The new layout is more “static” and will tell my story to the potential visitor, visually and contextually.
I’ve aspired to showcase my artistic side, and I think that template I’ve chosen manages to accomplish that admirably. So here it is, the new look and feel of Bojan.tv:
Snapchat IPO is a serious wake up call to me. I gotta wake up, like right now. I got my serious disadvantage of not being born here, but I can’t rely on that excuse for long. My execution skills need to be put to test, and they need to be refined. There is absolutely no reason why I couldn’t do better in the next decade.
